The List: Bell St. Burritos
For those of you who dine in and around Inman Park, you have undoubtedly already discovered Bell Street Burritos. They’ve had an item on The List and in my sight all year, the pork and green chili burrito. While I STILL haven’t made it to the east side location, I’m thrilled that Bell Street had the good sense to open in Buckhead. (in the former home of Huey’s.)
I don’t know about you, but my enthusiasm around burritos in general has waned over the past few years. The versions from Moe’s and Willy’s lack any real kick and feel like a giant carb load, so I was skeptical. Still, Bell St. won me over quickly.
Actually, they had me at “pellet ice.”
I’ve been known to drive through Zaxby’s just to have a tea with pellet ice so to find this at a burrito spot --- well, sign me up!
Then to make matters better still, they a) don’t have that ridiculous, inefficient, line-inducing, Freewheel Coke machine like Moes & Willys and b) they have Cheerwine as on tap at the fountain!
Get.Outta.Town.
I’ve never seen Cheerwine as a fountain drink!!! In fact the only place I would find this cherry flavored cola used to be when I was in or near South Carolina. I can’t get over this find. Score!!
Still, if you’re going to do more than drink soda, you’ll be happy with the green tacos..
Still, I was not going to be distracted. I was here for The List item: a pork and green chili burrito.
What’s not apparent in this photo is that the chili’s are spectacularly robust in the burrito. These are not small, tasteless diced chilis, no. These are hearty strips of peppers which are neither too hot nor too bland.
The portion of the burrito is still enormous, so don’t plan on keeping your diet on this venture.
Still, you can bet I’ll be back!
