Guaranteed To Make Your Week

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” Charles Dickens

Whatever your week has in store, there's one sure way to make it better: forget about what YOU need and, instead, do something selfless for someone else.

That's it. Only two steps are required.

1. Look for a need.

2. Do something.

So when you see someone who needs something - anything - that's your invitation to jump in. Sure, you can't solve the world's problems, but that doesn't mean you can't help the person in front of you. If you want to show love to the world, you need to remember, Love DOES stuff!

What does that mean, practically speaking? Well, that depends on what needs you come across today.

In case you're not sure what "doing stuff" looks like, here are a few hints:

Someone on the side of the road? Stop and help.

Someone struggling with packages? Hold the door open longer than necessary.

The guy beside you is convinced that he can "beat" traffic? Wave his car in.

Disconnected relationship? Initiate the difficult phone call.

Have you been wronged? Forgive first.

The person next to you seem down? Ask what's wrong.

Struggle to get a word in edgewise? Let others have the floor as long as they like.

Do you have more than someone else? Share boldly.

Distracted? Pay Attention.

Wanting your voice to be heard? Listen quickly.

Holding a grudge? Let it go.

If happiness starts where selfishness ends, then today is a perfect day to lift the burden of someone else. Just a small, single step. Try it...
