Why we should embrace adventures

"Security is an illusion.  Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all."

Why do I get lulled into expecting life to follow a schedule and a plan?

I make my lists and check off my tasks as if I could manage my way into order and predictability.  I behave as if security and control are within reach.  Worse still, I fool myself into believing if I am successful in imposing my will on the world, the result would actually be appealing.

Where is the fun in that? Where is the spontaneity and surprise? Where is the adventure?

Granted, not all surprises are good and I think an undisciplined life is wasteful, but there's something challenging about those who embrace adventures.   I love people who take risks in ways that I haven't even dreamed about.

The story of Dane, Rebecca, and Alex is breathtaking and the mastery of their craft is humbling.  An added bonus, the scenery alone is worth the time.
