Maintaining Perspective
“Your problem is how you are going to spend this one and precious life you have been issued. Whether you're going to spend it trying to look good and creating the illusion that you have power over circumstances, or whether you are going to taste it, enjoy it and find out the truth about who you are.” Anne Lamott
In days when the little things add up to an overwhelming sense of stalemate, it helps to step back and notice the bigger part of life; to see something bigger than my tiny "to do" list, to notice that I am worth more than any performance.
The job will wait, dinner will get done, and the mechanic may find a way to repair the car. Life's logistics take hours of attention, but they aren't what define us; they aren't our purpose. We are designed for so much more.
For me, that purpose always circles back to God and how he defines me. For most of my readers, this may sound strange, but I am hoping you can recognize the truth that you are worth much more than what you do.
You are valuable just because you're here.
This bird ballet is pure poetry and ridiculously awesome and reminds me to look up and pay attention.
Make it an amazing day!
