How do you make life better?

Have you caught the video of a college kid playing piano with a young Leukemia patient, Breanna? This student routinely volunteers at the local hospital, and Breanna's mother captured just one of the dozen songs Breanna sang with her piano man.

The guy at the bench, incidentally, is Memphis Quarterback Jacob Karam.

Yup. A star-athlete who also plays piano by ear!! Proof that life isn't fair!

Check it out...

I'm not only inspired, but challenged.

I love that Karam isn't showing up as the star quarterback, but as a guy ready to just hang out with kids and dink around. Sure, he's got talent, but more importantly, he's made himself available to serve.

I am tempted to dismiss and underscore the challenge of  this example. After all,  athletes live a privileged life, so they SHOULD give back, right? However, that's short-sighted and irrelevant to my response.

I would be foolish to dismiss his actions in hopes of feeling better about my inaction.

Winston Churchill said it best, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."

So today, let's meet the Karam challenge by asking the question, "How can I help?" and then doing something!
