Don't Blend In
When my kids swing by my office they love to draw and leave messages on the white boards. This is the most recent addition:
I recognize my daughter’s handwriting, but I’m not sure when she started reading Oscar Wilde. (Is that part of the core curriculum?). I suppose it doesn’t matter, I’m grateful she values the sentiment as a 10-year-old and I hope it lasts.
In fact, I’ve left the words on the wall as a reminder. When I see them I say a quick prayer for her that she will…
Value her uniqueness, even when it’s easier to blend in.
Understands she has a distinct purpose in life, even when she wanders.
Accept and love others unconditionally, even when it’s hard.
I pray lots of things for my kids, but at the top of the list is my wish that they will feel comfortable in their skin, for they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
How do you pray for your kids?
